Perhaps the greatest fashion designer of all time, Martin Margiela disrupted the entire industry with his string of PFW shows in the 90’s. Street casting models, throwing runway shows in derelict areas and repurposing old thrifted garments all seem normal today - yet were groundbreaking when Margiela debuted these techniques in his ‘guerrilla shows’. Notoriously elusive and known for refusing interviews, Margiela dissapeared from the fashion world in 2009 to pursue his art practice.
